Kevin Durant speaks on Clippers squad.

After much talk about how the Golden State Warriors lost in game two against the Los Angeles Clippers after being up by 31 points, the Warriors are now up 3-1 in the series.

Everyone knows that Golden State is going to win the series, but no one thought the Warriors would lose a game in which they were up by 31 at one point, nor did they think the Clippers would make it competitive all the way into the fourth quarter.

The Clippers made the eighth seed in the West because of their young, experienced core. Golden State small forward Kevin Durant praised the Clippers because of their persistence throughout the series.

“This team is just looking for a crack or an opening for us to, you know, kind of relax and lay down just like game two,” Durant said. “And um, you know, but they don’t stop. They are one of those teams that just make you feel them all game. And even when you go home after the game, you going to be thinking about them because they tough.”

Even Golden State teammate Klay Thompson said the Clippers are “a tough team down there.” He added “they are not going to give in.”

The LA Clippers have shown so much poteinal this season, making them one superstar away from making some real noise in the playoffs, which is why it will be a prime destination for this years star-studded free-agent market.

The veteran presence comes from guards Lou Williams and Patrick Beverly.  Then the young, but bright aspect of this team comes mostly from rookie point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Even though the rookie did not have the sensational year that rookies Luka Doncic or Trae Young did, he has shown he has not only size, but the potential to be a promising star in this league.

I would not be surprised if more than one major superstar found themselves in a Clipper uniform at the beginning of the 2019-2020 NBA season. They have all the pieces in place: a great coach in Doc Rivers, a competent front office, a willing owner in Steve Ballmer and a great bench. All this team is missing is that superstar-level player.
